Most people consider life a battle, but it is not a battle, it is a game. “What ever a man soweth that shall he also reap”

In life if a man gives hate, he will receive hate; if he gives love, he will receive love; if he gives criticism, he will receive criticism; if he lies he will be lied to; if he cheats he will be cheated.

Life is not a battle unless you let life become a battle. Believe in your dreams, your goals, your desire’s. Visualise where you are going and how you are going to get there.

I have a couple of sayings that I live by each and every day:

“Do unto others as you would have others do unto you”

“There is no such word as can’t and won’t is not the way to success”

“I live, I breath and therefore I dream, I dream the biggest dreams and work each day for their reality”

My Fresh Steps is about taking Fresh Steps today for Tomorrow.

My Fresh Steps is about life coaching but we also know that it is just as important to be well on the inside and feel great on the outside. If we feel sluggish and look sluggish then it’s much harder to change our life and really really encompass Life Coaching.

Looking after your inside is just as important as exercise and to feel good about yourself you need to have your skin looking good. I take Aloe Vera Juice daily basis to add nutrients, vitamins, minerals and amino acids to my diet, and above all, to promote a good, healthy lifestyle! And I use the Skin care range to help rejuvenate and moisturize my skin like never before.

For those reason My Fresh Steps is an Independent Distributer of Forever Living products – I truly believe that we need to look at the whole package and not just at snip bits.

Did you also know that if you exercise every day for just thirty minutes it will significantly improve your mood. And after all if you don’t use your body, you will surely lose it. Your muscles will become flabby and weak. Your heart and lungs won’t function efficiently. And your joints will be stiff and easily injured. Inactivity is as much of a health risk as smoking!

My Fresh Steps is looking for a personal trainer and fitness guru to join our team to give a really great overall package to all our clients – Watch this space

What is life coaching???

Life coaching is a way of providing people with personal support that is committed to their success and development.

The coach is someone who will make a difference to the client’s life by supporting them and encouraging their professional and personal growth.

Through conversation, clients are helped to understand why they find themselves in their current situation and then to find strategies, motivations and focus to design and move towards new, better situations.

A coach will help clients identify where they are now where they want to be and how to get there: and then keeps them on track until they achieve their goals.

Life coaching is not about being a therapist or counsellor; it is not about looking back into past experiences or emotional issues. Equally it is not a short-term measure to cope with a crisis.

Life coaching is about performing at your best through the individual and private assistance of someone who will challenge, stimulate and guide you through the process.

Who Is Coaching For???

Coaching is for people like you! It is for people who are “on a roll” and they may simply appreciate a neutral sounding board who will give them straight-up honest feedback and on-going support, as well as people who are “stuck” and just need a guide to help cultivate the tools necessary for them to evolve into a life filled with serenity, happiness and organization. By contacting My Fresh Steps as your coach I can:.

Help you focus on achieving your personal or business goals.

Help you to set and reach better goals through the creation of a plan of action.

Work through career of life transition and achieve work/life balance.

Provide you with the tools, structure and support for you to accomplish more.

Provide a confidential and independent ‘sounding board’

Provide focused support as you make changes in your life.

Coaching is all about making you happier by changing the things that make you sad. Life coaching does not focus on examining or diagnosing the past nor does it delve into diagnosing mental illness or dysfunction. Instead it focuses on positively bringing about change in a person’s current and future behavior.

Hierarchy of Needs

In Maslow’s research he discovered what he called ‘the hierarchy of needs’. He said that our needs have to be satisfied at a lower level before we can move to a higher level. The pinnacle of the hierarchy is self-actualization. Maslow believed that self-actualization is an innate drive, i.e. something we were born with.

At the base of the triangle are our basic needs – oxygen, food, and water. We will take whatever steps are necessary to secure these requirements just to survive. In our society most of these needs are fulfilled with little effort. Few of us would have experienced real hunger and thirst. In third world or less affluent countries people struggle daily to meet these basic needs.

The second level is the need for safety and security, shelter and protection. We all need somewhere to live, a home that will protect us from the elements, an environment that provides safety and security.

Once we have reached this level we are now prepared to move to the third level, which is the need to belong, to bond with people who are like-minded, people who believe in the things we do and see life in the same way. Belonging to these groups we are more likely to feel that these people love and care about us. This group gives us self-expression beyond our immediate family.

The fourth level is the need for self-esteem. We want to feel good about ourselves and have others feel good about us. When we succeed at some difficult challenge we experience deep feelings of satisfaction.

At the highest level Maslow says our need is to self-actualize. In developed nations we have the luxury of being able to strive for the higher levels in this hierarchy.

At the higher level we become creative because we are free to develop our gifts and talents, to write, to sing, to paint, to concentrate on the spiritual aspects of life. To reach this this pinnacle we must make full use of our potential. This is living life to the max.

Are you struggling to reach your needs emotionally??? Life Coaching with My Fresh Steps can help you in finding your direction. Contact us today on info@myfreshsteps.com.au

This Diary is about my journey through the 14 weeks. There are other parents on the course that are seeking the same goals however in respect of privacy and in the most respectful way this is about me, no-one else, it’s my journey and “My Fresh Steps” to be a FANTASTIC mother.

I have to tell you a warm fuzzy moment. We all introduced ourselves and after I finished one of the ladies said “I was brought up in a single parent family and I remember what my mother did for us and respect her and love her for it, your children will remember and love you for how fantastic you are” – I almost cried as my emotions took over. I need to hear that reinforcement that I was OK, that it would be OK, that I am an OK mother.

The Incredible Years Programme Diary

Parenting children at any age can be a difficult time for both parents and children. We don’t know all the right ways to bring them up to be confident and well balanced adults – but you know what I beat you’re doing better than you think you are.

As a parent myself I am worried that the behaviours that I have will be then become the behaviours of my children. I worry that I won’t teach them all the right skills that they need to go forth in the journey of life. I think that we all do have the same worries and more to some degree.

I was not fortunate enough to have my own mother to guide me and support me in the transition from a free spirited adult who did as she jolly well pleased to the mum that I have become today. I spent hours watching Super Nanny and there was a naughty step in my house. I did the reward chart, the getting down to the child’s level and the child lead play. But somehow I still didn’t feel that that was enough so I am now doing “The Incredible Years Programme”.

I am bringing my journey on this programme to you via a diary on my Parenting Matters page. I hope that maybe my journey over the next 14 weeks on this course may give you something new to try, a different play strategy or even a pat on the back as you already do this.

These will be my thoughts and my experiences based on how the programme works for me so is purely subjective. Click here to follow my diary. This is about me continuing to take “My Fresh Step” in my life and for my family.

If however you feel that you want to know more or need some advice, my personal advice gained through experience not formal qualification on Child care and parenting then please drop me an email at paulette@myfreshsteps.com.au.

People walking past and small pleasures

Have you ever sat and watched the people walking past as you have your coffee at places such as Starbucks and Zarraffa’s. Be it a Latte, flat white or cappuccino the people walking don’t change depending on the coffee you’re drinking. Maeve Haran wrote a book called “Froth on the Cappuccino – How small pleasures can save your life”

My small pleasure is the watching of people as I drink my flat white on a Monday morning, or even a Saturday afternoon in the mall. Life is stressful and we need these small pleasures to make it that little bit better. But what happens if you can’t find your froth on the Cappuccino???

I love one of the quotes in Maeve’s book – Lady Thatcher when asked what gave her greatest satisfaction in life, replied, “Taking the fluff out of the tumble dryer”. Do you know what she means???

We are surrounded by small pleasures but sometimes when things seem at there toughest we can’t seem to see them – so what do you do??? We sit down and list our small pleasures.

As it rained heavy last night I stood out on my back porch and took in the wonderful smell of the wet grass and the sound of the rain on the roof – another of my small pleasure – it took me back many years ago when I was on the West Coast of New Zealand, in a cabin with my then boyfriend. It was quiet all except the sound of the rain and the smell of the wet grass. I am glad that things like this can bring back the memories as they are what guide us to the future. I have been through incredibly tough times and during these I forgot what it was that made me smile. Through personal Life Coaching and wonderful friends I have so many small pleasures now. I can smell the double chocolate muffins finishing their cooking time in the oven – hmmm coffee and hot homemade muffins. While these cook my daughter is playing school with her sister. So innocently teaching her about her week at school and how to do the times table. – Sounds wonderful –especially the laughter.

Send me some of your small pleasures and why these are symbolic to you at paulette@myfreshsteps.com.au
